Blacksmithing in the modern world is rooted in creating art and tools with fire and force. This is a beginner class designed to give you a taste of what being a blacksmith is all about as you use both contemporary and antique equipment to learn the ancient skill of forging steel with hammer and anvil. You'll learn hammer control, the different parts and ways to strike an anvil, and how to use them to maximize your effort. All class projects are designed to use the skills you develop to enhance your capabilities. - in partnership with Wasatch Forge
